How Will We Pay For It?

PAY FOR PRIORITIES—AND INVEST IN PREVENTION

I don't believe the solution requires raising taxes on working families AT ALL.

Kentucky already taxes or receives revenue from activities such as alcohol, tobacco, vaping, gaming, horse racing, and the lottery. As Kentucky considers the taxation and regulation of newer industries and products, including cannabis and other emerging markets, I believe a SIGNIFICANT portion of that revenue should be dedicated to investing in public health and services.

Those dollars can help fund preventative healthcare, disability services, Medicaid waiver expansion, children's programs, addiction treatment, mental-health services, education, and other investments that strengthen Kentucky families.

Healthy families make for better, happier neighbors.

My guiding principle across all of these policies is the same:

Prevent what we can.

Intervene early when we can't.

Help people become stable and independent whenever possible.

Encourage hard work, learning, and growth.

And make sure that when Kentuckians genuinely need their community, their community is there.
